- Sounds to me like a good candidate for splitting into seperate screens.
- I don't know what options you're trying to set up, but isn't there a
- logical way to split them up, so that each set of options is available
- from the main screen or window via a button?

- If you've got so many options on screen that they look cramped at 640x512
- and with the smallest type face, they'd surely be better off seperated
- out a little.

- To answer your actual question, 640x512 is standard PAL Hires-Laced. You
- might get a little more with overscan. But in all honesty, if you're
- looking at a screen that size on a TV, using a 5-point font, you'll get
- major eyestrain.
